Georgia Public Broadcasting and SCORE Atlanta announce the launch of a new website dedicated to high school football. FOOTBALL FRIDAYS IN GEORGIA is a unique, media rich website featuring live webcasts and archived games on demand.The first featured game is Marist at St. Pius on Friday, August 29 at 7:30 PM. Fans are invited to submit stories, photos and videos. During the webcast, enjoy SCORE Atlanta blogs and real-time score updates. Then, check back all week to watch the game again, see replays, get the latest rankings, and view pictures and videos from the game. And, it’s not just about the pigskin. GPB invites cheerleaders, bands, drill teams and fans alike to log on and upload pictures and stories.

This is a perfect place to gather and enjoy all that FOOTBALL FRIDAYS IN GEORGIA has to offer. It’s a great way for out-of-town relatives to view games live on the web or see it on demand at their convenience. Coaches can use the archives for player review and college scouts can see games from all over the state. It’s also a fun place for GPB to showcase great breakaway banners, mascot antics, band formations and fan fun.

GPB Radio Spring Membership Campaign Recognizes The Greatest Generation Tonight on The Big Band Jump Jubilee, 6p-8p

Join Masani and Don Kennedy (pictured, right) tonight at 6pm for a special, live, two hour edition of Big Band Jump as GPB kicks off our Spring Membership Campaign with a nod to The Greatest Generation. Kennedy, whose nationally syndicated program airs on some 200 stations nationwide, will originate live public radio from GPB Studios this evening, assisted by GPB Jazz Spot muse Masani. They'll take your calls in support of GPB's eclectic and unequalled weekend music lineup as Kennedy visits the heyday of Dorsey, Miller, Goodman and the other great artists who provided the soundtrack to the 1940s.


If you support this music and Georgia Hall of Fame Broadcaster Don Kennedy on your favorite public radio station, join us tonight at 6pm and become a member or renew your existing membership. We need you. We'll also be streaming on the web to all the ships at sea. Tonight's two hour live Big Band Jump Jubilee will push The Infinite Mind back to 8pm tonight only. Cover To Cover and What's The Word will take the night off but return for Mother's Day. That is all.
